I’m a gay man in my mid-40s, writing from a place of growing alarm. In a time when right-wing populism and media-fuelled scapegoating are creating an increasingly hostile environment for LGBTQI people and other marginalised groups, silence is complicity. With Trumpism resurging abroad and Reform rhetoric gaining traction here at home, the atmosphere feels colder, meaner, more dangerous. This blog is my act of resistance, a place to speak plainly, challenge the drift toward intolerance, and hold space for queer voices that refuse to be erased.
